Domestic Violence can have a serious effect on those who experience it, including physical, psychological and emotional harm or death.

The Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012 (Qld) defines Domestic violence as behaviour by a person in a relationship who participates in behaviour towards the other person in that relationship in a manner that is:

• physically or sexually abusive;
• emotionally or psychologically abusive;
• economically abusive;
• threatening;
• coercive; or
• any other way controls or dominates a person and causes that person to fear for their safety or wellbeing or that of someone else.
